About Us

A Little History

Our website is an outgrowth of Vickey’s Goodness Matters blog and group on Facebook. It’s a compliment to our Goodness Matters Foundation, a non-profit organization with the purpose of growing goodness, sharing inspiration, and celebrating hope.

We believe in the goodness of mankind. We want to collect and connect the good things people are doing for others. Let’s share, celebrate, and grow goodness around our world!

Our Logo

Our logo is a lighthouse. When needed, it simply and beautifully shines as a way to safety and peace. Like a lighthouse, simple, and small acts of kindness are often the light to shine in someone’s dark world.

The secret sauce is SIMPLE and SMALL. While we may do Goodness Matters projects on a larger level from time to time, we’re mostly about small and simple. Through those little ways, we grow a whole lot of goodness!

Our Advisors

Most things are a collective effort, right? The good folks we currently have behind the scenes want to shine a light of goodness with their talents and time.

Advisor

Debra Swofford was raised in Murray and Holladay, Utah, but her life experience has taken her around the world. The oldest daughter of a General Mills Vice-president, and the wife of a Filmmaker, she grew up with a broader definition of the world than many of her peers. Graduating from Brigham Young University as a registered nurse in 1977, she has worked in many disciplines within health care from urgent care to Maternity, doing seven straight years in same-day surgery at IMC. Having served as president of nearly every youth and women’s organization in her church, she has the administrative skill and continues a lifelong pursuit of goodness for her family and community.
Dustin Olsen

Dustin Olsen

Advisor

As an accomplished web designer, Dustin has shared his decade plus years of talent, knowledge and expertise in the building of GoodnessMatter.org into something that is beautiful and easy to use. He envisioned our dream of what we wanted and brought it to life!

When no one is telling Dustin what to do, you’ll find him trying to do anything outside – away from the computer screen. From biking and kayaking to mowing the lawn and washing his truck, he loves soaking up as much sun as he can before the days get short.

While being active and traveling the world are favorite past-times, nothing will bring out the excitement in Dustin’s voice more than talking about cars. He’s a sucker for brand new vehicles and iconic 60’s muscle cars – specifically, the Ford Mustang, making Gone In 60 Seconds one of his all-time favorite movies.
